Romies

I’m not sure how this place get bad reviews. Probably people went to this place on a busy evening? I went here early like one of the first customers on Tuesday evening and I have the best time ever in a restaurant in Montreal! The service is superb and the food is delish! Every dishes that I order are tasty. The only negative thing is that I order the fried zucchini and beef tartare and both have cream-cheese? So it doesn’t balance each other. I have should have ordered something refreshing instead. But both dishes are so good especially the fried zucchini. I also like the clam dish and the steak. Everything was cooked on point. The place is also beautiful in the right amount of light. If i had a restaurant, this would be the kind that I would have. Thank you romies team! You really made my night!

The food was good and the space is very nice. I had the Courgette Frites which were excellent, definitely recommend. Also tried the pasta alla zozzano which was good but expensive for a plate of pasta ($34) with mostly sauce, cheese and bits of bacon. The chocolate cake is decadent and well worth it. Service was a bit slow especially for our cocktails.

Busy yet chill vibes. Low lights atmosphere. They have bocci ball in the back, the toilets are outside of the restaurant which is a little odd but it works. Their drinks were good. Price point is high but the quality matches it. The rib eye steak was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The fries were made in house and tasty. The ceasar salad was okay. I would go with another options in the future, instead of salad.

We had our wedding at Romies with 72 guests and it was the most special night. It was super intimate. We had our ceremony and cocktail hour in the courtyard, and our reception inside the restaurant. First off, the staff is 10/10 - service was incredible, the food was outstanding and all our friends and family said this was some of the best food they ever had. We had an open bar and family style dining. We had antipasti and focaccia to start, catalina salad and fried zucchini followed by pasta alla zozzana, rib eye, branzino as the mains, and fries + side veg. Finished off with the Black out cake which was out of this world, and our wedding cake. The food was never ending. Everyone was so well fed. We also had a midnight table! Nick and his team were so organized. We mostly dealt with Franck and Camille and they were so accommodating + responsive. The food was amazing and reasonably priced. The ambiance was very nice. I would give this 5 stars but the staff was unprofessional. The host was talking to his colleague for 5 minutes before greeting me (I was standing in front just waiting for them to finish) and only gave one menu for a table of 7 people. Would come back though

Really happy with my experience at Romies! The clam pasta (a special menu item) was amazing, so were the zucchini fries. I had the snail martini and I loved all the garnishes that came with it. Awesome place overall!
